Mechanics
Removes 1 to 5 buffs from a single target. The skill itself always lands - the chance is rolled separately for each of the target's effects: 25% without removal resistance, less with resistance. If not a single roll succeeds, one random effect is removed.

# How it works
«Cancellation»
is a single-target magic skill. Cast time 6 seconds, cooldown 30 seconds, range 600. The skill has 12 levels; the level affects only the MP cost.
Order:
- The skill always lands: it has no chance of its own, and the target's shield, «M. Def.», «CON» and «MEN» do not affect it. Does not work on an invulnerable target.
- The target's removable buffs are taken: songs and dances first, then the rest, starting with the ones applied last.
- A separate roll for each effect in turn.
- The rolls go on until 5 effects are removed or the list ends.
- If not a single roll succeeds, one random effect from the list is removed. Every use on a target that has something to remove removes at least one effect.
Not removed: debuffs, toggle skills, effects of hero skills, effects of potions and items, passive skills, effects triggered on their own by another skill.
# What depends on what
Three things affect the result of a use: how many removable effects the target has, its removal resistance and the order in which the effects were applied.
What affects the removal and what does not
| What | Affects | How |
|---|---|---|
| Number of buffs on the target | yes | the more there are, the more rolls and the more often all 5 are removed |
| Target's resistance to buff removal | yes | divides the chance per effect: 25 / (1 + resistance / 100), not below 10% |
| yes | cancels the target's resistance, and without resistance raises the chance per effect to 35.7% | |
| Order in which effects were applied | yes | songs and dances, then the rest from the last applied - the first in line are lost more often |
| Target's invulnerability | yes | the skill does not work |
| Jewelry, including Grand Boss jewelry | none | no piece of jewelry gives removal resistance |
| Skill level | none | changes only the MP cost |
| Target's level and mage's level | none | |
| The mage's «M. Atk.», the target's «M. Def.», «CON» and «MEN» | none | |
| Target's shield | none | |
| General debuff resistance and resistance to mental attacks | none | |
| Level and remaining time of the effect being removed | none |
# Chance per effect
Chance to remove one effect = 25 / (1 + target's removal resistance / 100), not below 10% and not above 90%.
Examples: without resistance 25 / 1 = 25%; with «Arcane Protection»
(resistance 30) 25 / 1.3 = 19.2%; with «Arcane Protection»
and «Lionheart»
(resistance 70) 25 / 1.7 = 14.7%; at resistance 150 and above the chance hits the lower limit of 10%.
Protection is given only by skills and one talisman - they are listed in the table below. Jewelry, including Grand Boss jewelry, gives no protection from removal.
«Arcane Chaos»
on the target works the other way: it cancels the target's resistance, and against a target without resistance it raises the chance to 35.7%.
Chance for one effect by target's resistance
| Target's removal resistance | Chance for one effect |

# How many effects are removed
The result of one use depends on the number of removable effects on the target and on its resistance. Against a fully buffed target without resistance all 5 effects are removed in more than half of the uses. The fewer effects the target has and the higher its resistance, the more often a use removes only one effect - the one that is removed in any case.
How many effects are removed on average per use

# Cooldown
30 seconds is the base cooldown of «Cancellation»
. Every source that speeds up the cooldown of magic skills multiplies it by its own multiplier, and the multipliers are multiplied together. A mage with the passive skill, a song and the seraphim's effect has a cooldown of about 12.5 seconds, with a boss necklace - about 11 seconds, and with the vote rune - less than 10 seconds.
What shortens the cooldown
| Source | What it is | Multiplier | Cooldown with this source alone |
|---|---|---|---|
| passive skill, both classes with «Cancellation» have it from level 48 | × 0.80 | 24.0 seconds | |
| song, 2 minutes | × 0.80 | 24.0 seconds | |
| buff, 2 minutes | × 0.65 | 19.5 seconds | |
|
× 0.80 | 24.0 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.95 | 28.5 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.95 | 28.5 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.95 | 28.5 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.93 | 27.9 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.90 | 27.0 seconds | |
| necklace, while equipped | × 0.87 | 26.1 seconds |

# Tested on the server
The rules above are verified on the real server code: a character with real buffs is created, the skill is used on it 1000 times, and the outcome is counted. More than 5 effects were not removed in a single use. Separately, the removal calculation was called 1 000 000 times on the same targets - there was not a single empty result.
1000 uses per row

# Specifics of our server
The skill's numbers are taken from the data of the official High Five servers (PTS): chance 25 per effect, no more than 5 effects, cast time 6 seconds, cooldown 30 seconds, resistance 30 for «Arcane Protection»
. Nobody knows for certain how exactly the official server calculates the removal inside: there is no public description, and the known builds interpret the same numbers differently. So on our server the rule is set explicitly:
- The skill always lands, the chance is rolled for each effect separately.
- Removal resistance divides the chance: 25 / (1 + resistance / 100). Resistance from different sources adds up.
- The chance per effect is never below 10%.
- The level of the effect being removed and its remaining time do not affect the chance.
- Every use removes at least one effect: if all the rolls fail, one random effect is removed.
