Plays dead to keep a monster from attacking. Consumes 10 MP per second.

- 200
The description and the numbers are those of level 1, the last one.
Mechanics
A toggle skill of the Treasure Hunter, Plainswalker and Bounty Hunter: the character drops as if dead, and monsters stop attacking. On our server the chance to deceive is 100%. While the character is lying down, 10 MP per second is spent. The skill does not save you from regular attacks and direct damage skills of other players.

# How it works
«Fake Death»
is learned at level 40 by the Treasure Hunter, Plainswalker and Bounty Hunter. Turning it on costs 200 MP, then 10 MP per second while the character is lying down. It has no duration and no cooldown - the character lies as long as there is enough MP or until something makes them stand up, and can lie down again right away.
When it is turned on, the character stops attacking and casting and comes to a halt.
What you cannot do lying down
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| move and attack | not allowed |
| use regular skills | not allowed, the character stays down |
| use items | not allowed - potions and scrolls do not work |
| pick up items from the ground | not allowed |
| talk to NPCs | not allowed |
| open Alt+B | not allowed |
# How monsters react
The chance to deceive is 100%.
- A monster that was hitting the character drops them: the next time it picks a target, its aggression towards the one lying down is reset. If the monster has other targets, it switches to them, if not - it leaves.
- Aggressive monsters nearby do not notice a character lying down, no matter how long they lie.
- A monster does not hit a character lying down with a regular attack. A hit started before the fall deals no damage.
# What makes the character stand up
The character stands up if
| What happened | Details |
|---|---|
| any other toggle skill is pressed |
|
| the «sit / stand» action is pressed | other actions are not performed while lying down |
| less MP is left than the next deduction needs | the skill turns off by itself |
| a player, their servitor or pet started a regular attack on the character lying down | the character stands up even before the first hit, while the attacker is only approaching |
| a direct physical or magic damage skill is used on the character lying down |
|
| a skill that takes away a share of CP is used on the character lying down |
|
What does not make the character stand up
| What happened | What happens to the character |
|---|---|
| a monster's regular hit | is not dealt to a character lying down |
| an area skill aimed directly at the character lying down | is not used: invalid target. Only an area around another target or around the attacker can catch a character lying down - then they take damage and stand up |
| do not land on a character lying down: neither damage nor standing up | |
| poison, bleed and other damage over time |
|
| skills that burn MP | MP is taken away, the character stays down |
| debuffs without damage: sleep, hold, silence | are applied, the character stays down |
# Against players
Another player can target a character lying down; a regular attack makes them stand up even before the first hit. An area skill cannot pick a character lying down as its main target.
# MP cost
200 MP when turned on. Then 10 MP per second: MP is deducted once every 3 seconds, 30 points at a time (the first deduction covers the time from turning on to the nearest deduction, so it is smaller). The skill turns off when less than 31 MP is left.
How long you can lie down
| MP at the moment of turning on | Time lying down |
|---|---|
| 500 | about 30 s |
| 800 | about 60 s |
| 1000 | about 80 s |
| 1500 | about 130 s |
| 2000 | about 180 s |
# Tested on the server
The MP cost was measured. The other rules are taken from the server code and were not measured by runs.
Measurements
| What was tested | Result |
|---|---|
| MP deducted over 3 seconds lying down | 30 MP, HP and CP untouched |
| deduction period | 3 seconds |
# Specifics of our server
In High Five knowledge bases the skill is listed with two parts: MP cost and evading monster aggression with the number 70. How this number is applied is not stated there: it may be one common roll when turning on or a separate roll for each monster. On our server the rule is set explicitly:
- The chance to deceive is 100%, not 70: all monsters that were hitting the character drop them, and aggressive monsters nearby do not notice them.
- The MP cost is exactly 10 per second: 30 MP once every 3 seconds.
- There is no protection after standing up.
